Ruscus, steeped in wine. The same slim stem and small pointed leaves, now a deep bordeaux that shifts to rose where the light touches.
We didn't imitate the plant. We kept it. Preserved while still soft, coloured through, every leaf and every branch left as it grew. Light in form, rich in tone.
Five stems in a tall vase, leaning apart. Or against cream, oak and linen, where the red reads warm and deep.
No water. No wilting. No falling leaves. Only the same dark red, season after season.
